In celebration of Jewish art and artists, USC Hillel is hosting Bread & Salt, a exhibition organized by the Jewish Artists Initiative (JAI) – opening Sunday, April 8th, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Gilah’s painting, EKEV #1 is included in the exhibition – part of a multi-institutional project taking place over the course of the Jewish New Year 2017 (5778) and continuing through the fall of 2018 in Southern California.

The goal of Bread & Salt is to explore contemporary, historic and ritual aspects of food. JAI has brought together a cross-section of its members to share their interpretations of food, and the role food has played in Jewish history and cultural life. The curated collection also addresses references in the Torah and the foods eaten in ancient times… as well as the role that food plays in the gatherings of friends and families.
